Dr Gale delivers babies at Wollongong Private Hospital and covers all aspects of obstetric care, including:

  • Preconception counselling
  • Early pregnancy care (including miscarriage)
  • Antenatal care
  • Intrapartum care (delivery)
  • Caesarean section
  • Post natal care
  • VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean section)
  • ECV (external cephalic version) for breech

She limits her numbers so she can maximize personalised care.

 

INITIAL PREGNANCY APPOINTMENT

Your first appointment with Dr Gale will be around 8-10 weeks into your pregnancy.  At your first visit you will receive an outline of anticipated visits during your pregnancy and the tests required. You will receive a care package containing useful information for your pregnancy and an antenatal card that you will need to bring to each appointment. A dating ultrasound will be performed and at each subsequent visit an ultrasound will be performed to check the wellbeing of your baby.

You will need to bring with you for your first consultation:

  • Referral from General Practitioner
  • Copies of test results (blood tests, ultrasounds etc) obtained from GP
  • Date of last menstrual period
  • Date of last pap smear
  • List of medications
  • Health fund check (Please check with your private health fund to ensure you are fully covered for obstetric services in a private hospital.)
  • Self-funded and overseas insured patients are welcome
